Rock 'N' Bowl for Kids' Sake - Montgomery
_______________________________________________________________________________________________

Bowl for Kids’ Sake (BFKS) is a bowl-a-thon fundraising event that supports the programs provided by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Montgomery.
BFKS provides an opportunity for corporations and organizations throughout the Montgomery area to join together to have fun and raise funds to help BBBS serve the children who need us most.
The event involves teams of 4 to 6 individuals coming together to raise at least $100 per person for BBBS Montgomery programs by participating in our annual bowling event.
Participants in Bowl for Kids' Sake often seek donations from friends, family, and colleagues to support their bowling efforts. The event is not only a fun and engaging way to raise money for a good cause but also serves as a platform to raise awareness about the importance of mentorship and the impact it can have on the lives of young people.

PROGRAMS
Community-Based Program
In our Community-Based Program, youth ages 7 to 15 are matched with adult mentors in a one-on-one relationship. Matches are made based on preferences, similar interests, locations, and personalities. Adult volunteers commit to spending one-on-one time with their mentee 2 times per month for 3 – 5 hours per outing. Match activities are year-round and include spending time at the park, museums, sporting events, and a variety of other community activities.
School-Based Program
In our School-Based Program, youth ages 5 to 15 are matched with adult volunteers or high school students from participating or nearby schools. Matches meet 2 – 4 times per month for one hour on school grounds during the school year and devote portions of their time each meeting on units and activities in BBBS’ curriculum as well as on homework, playing games or sports, or just hanging out. The School-Based program is designed to enhance academic capability, one-on-one relationships, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
