YOUNG ADVISORY BOARD

BBBS Young Advisory Board is made up of young professionals in and around Birmingham who are invested in our organization. The YAB hosts an annual night golf tournament, "Glow on the Green." The YAB helps with special projects and events such as the fall picnic, holiday party, and back-to-school drive. The YAB also helps raise awareness about BBBS by engaging their workplaces and circle of friends.

Kaylyn Mckee, President

Kaylyn is originally from Walnut, MS, and has been a resident of Birmingham since 2022. She earned her Bachelor of Business from the University of Mississippi in 2021, where she held the position of Vice President in an ASB club. Presently, she serves as the Executive Assistant to the owner of NaphCare, a healthcare insurance company located in Vestavia Hills.

Kaylyn actively participates as a Big Sister, mentoring her Little Sister, McKenzi. Their favorite things to do together are going to the movies, playing at an arcade, and trying new slime.

In her free time, Kaylyn enjoys traveling to explore new places, thrift shopping, and spending time with her friends and family. She looks forward to getting involved and serving her community on the BBBS YAB.

 

Sarah Patton, Vice President

Sarah Patton was born and raised here in Birmingham, Alabama. She earned a Bachelor of Science in digital marketing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2020. She now serves as the Director of Sales & Marketing for Eventive Sports, working primarily in the golf division. She is passionate about building community and connections in the sports industry. Sarah enjoys being a Big Sister to Zariyah, and their favorite thing to do together is trying out new dinner spots around town.


In her free time, Sarah enjoys visiting the lake or beach, going on long walks, and spending time with family and friends.

Avery Lancaster, Secretary

Avery graduated from the University of Alabama and the University of Alabama School of Law in 2021 and 2024, respectively. He is originally from Mobile, Alabama but now calls Birmingham home. He is currently a corporate lawyer at Balch & Bingham, LLP.


Avery became involved with BBBS in 2025 and is currently a Big Brother to a seventh grader named Kamron. When they are together, you will probably find them shooting hoops, fishing, or exploring a local park. By joining the Young Advisory Board, Avery's main goal is to eliminate the waitlist of children requesting a Big Brother/Big Sister. Avery enjoys fly fishing, keeping up with foreign affairs, hanging out with friends and family, and cooking.

Gabby Turnbough, Events Chair

Gabby serves as Vice President of the Young Advisory Board for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Birmingham.

A Birmingham native, Gabby has always had a passion for helping others. She graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and earned her master’s degree in 2021. After spending two years teaching at a Title I school in Houston, she returned to Birmingham in 2023 to work alongside her father at Raymond James as a Client Service and Marketing Associate with Turnbough Private Wealth Counsel. She is currently studying to become a licensed financial advisor.

Gabby also serves as a Big Sister to Zya through Big Brothers Big Sisters, where they enjoy Taylor Swift, nail days, and Starbucks. In her free time, Gabby enjoys Pilates, pickleball, time with family and friends, and trips to the beach.

Emily Logan, Recruitment Chair

Emily Logan is originally from Alexander City, AL, and now calls Birmingham home. She received her Bachelor of Science in business marketing from Troy University. She currently works for Aya Healthcare as an Implementation Specialist. Emily is also a Big Sister in the program to her Little Sister Sophia. They enjoy spending time together, getting their nails done, and doing any outside activity! Emily has cherished their time together and says it truly has been an honor to watch Sophia grow into a kind-hearted, selfless young woman.

In her free time, Emily enjoys visiting the lake or beach, painting, and spending time with family and friends.

Christopher McClintock, Immediate Past President

Christopher serves as the Young Advisory Board Immediate Past President with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Birmingham! Christopher works in the corporate housing industry at Landing. Christopher became a Big Brother to a 11-year-old boy named Jaicyon. Christopher has been cherishing their time together and loves to watch him grow!

In his free time, Christopher enjoys hangout with friends/family or just being outside! 

Arianna Bastian

Arianna is from Long Island, New York, and works on the contracting team at Protective Life. She's been there for just over a year and absolutely loves it. Arianna is really excited about working with the Young Advisory Board and contributing to the Board’s success. Her family values generosity and serving the community, so she's thrilled to be part of a team that shares those beliefs.

She and her husband live on a 90-acre farm in Vincent. Her parents and sister also have homes out there, resulting in a close-knit family.

Jadie Burney

Jadie is originally from Huntsville, AL, but has called Birmingham home since 2017. He graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in 2021 with a degree in Finance. Since the spring of 2023, Jadie has served on the Young Advisory Board, where he’s passionate about supporting the organization’s mission.

Jadie works as a financial advisor at Mayfair Advisory Group, a fee-only financial advisory firm in Mountain Brook. He helps individuals and business owners with investment management, retirement planning, and developing strategies to ensure they stay on track toward their financial goals.

Outside of work, Jadie enjoys hunting, spending time on the lake, and watching sports with friends.

Lee Cooper

Lee is originally from Birmingham, AL and moved back to Birmingham after completing his undergraduate degree and MBA at the University of Alabama in 2023 and 2025. He is now a damages and valuation consultant at J.S. Held working in litigation support.


Lee became a Big Brother to a 12-year-old named Jhace at the beginning of 2026. Jhace and Lee enjoy playing music, going to arcades, and watching baseball. In his free time, Lee enjoys playing guitar and keyboard, playing golf, and spending time on Lake Martin

Hanna Gamble

Hanna is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Animal Science. Hanna changed paths and is now on a journey through Casualty and Property Insurance. She loves learning and growing with the industry and how much her amazing coworkers have encouraged her and helped her be the best she can be. 

Hanna's favorite hobbies are hiking, reading, scuba diving, and jumping into any kind of hands-on project. She enjoys learning about new hobbies, languages, and cultures. Hanna's goal is to start traveling more and seeing all the amazing places our world has to offer (along with making her fur babies lives as amazing as they can be). 

Jake Germek

Jake was born and raised in Pelham, Alabama. He attended Spring Hill College in Mobile where he graduated in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Jake currently works in the Auto Insurance industry at Kemper as a Product Analyst. He is excited for the opportunity to be a part of BBBS BHM YAB to interact with other young professionals while also making an impact in the community.


Jake enjoys practicing guitar and piano, working out, running, working on puzzles, and spending time with his friends and family.

Guy Griffies

Guy, a Birmingham native, has served on the Young Advisory Board since fall of 2022. Guy earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Birmingham Southern College and works in Operations Management at UPS. Guy recently graduated U.S. Army Ranger School and serves as a Lieutenant in the Alabama Army National Guard.

In his free time, Guy enjoys boating at Smith Lake, hunting and spending time with the friends and family.

Jarvis Jones

Jarvis Jones, a product of the vibrant multicultural community of Birmingham, has cultivated a distinguished academic and professional profile that spans multiple disciplines. His expertise in managerial economics, project management, political science, and technology converge to create a distinct presence within the socio-economic and technology realms.

During his leisure hours, you may find him at bay 113, honing his skills at TopGolf or playing Pickleball throughout Birmingham. He is engaged in civic matters, dedicating his passion to serving on statewide and national political campaigns, including Presidential, Senate, Gubernatorial, and Mayoral campaigns.

Jarvis has skydived (3 times) and bungee jumped (1x) 10 out of 10 he would recommend. When he indulges in his imagination and travels through time, Jarvis frequently finds himself captivated by the Renaissance Era, a testament to his enduring fascination with history and culture.

Charlotte McRae

Charlotte grew up in Birmingham, earned a degree in neuroscience from the University of Alabama, and is currently a third-year medical student at UAB. This past year, she led a program called the Senior Companionship Program that pairs medical students with home-bound senior citizens as their companions. She and several of her fellow classmates continue to keep up with their senior companions. Charlotte also developed special mentorships during college with multiple elementary students in the Black Belt. She acted as their tutor and ultimately saw a need for an art outlet for the third graders of Marion, AL. She and a colleague through UA’s Fellows Program designed a photography experience and exhibit for the children to display their idea of "home". The photography exhibit featured beautiful and vulnerable photographs from the children’s disposable cameras—all displayed in the town square.

Charlotte is excited to continue her pursuit of relationship-based service throughout her medical career, and excitedly awaits to be paired with her mentee at BBBS.

Reece Moore

Reece Moore is originally from Nashville, TN but has called Birmingham home since 2021. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Family Science from Samford University. Since graduating in 2025, Reece has served as an Advocate Coordinator for CASA of Jefferson County. In this role, Reece has the privilege of educating, empowering, and equipping volunteers as they advocate for children’s bestinterest within the child welfare and court system.

Through her work with CASA, Reece has seen the life-changing impact that mentorship can bring to children and is honored to further invest in the next generation through serving on the Big Brothers Big Sisters ofGreater Birmingham Young Advisory Board.


In her free time, Reece enjoys traveling, reading, or trying a new coffee shop!

Maegan Royal

Maegan is a Birmingham, AL native with a passion for working with young people and serving her community. She has a background in communications and several years of experience in higher education focused on leadership and professional development.

She is dedicated to empowering the next generation to lead with purpose and confidence.

Molly Skipper

Molly was born and raised in McDonough, Georgia, and moved to Birmingham to attend Samford University, where she graduated in May of 2025. She quickly fell in love with Birmingham and decided to call it home. Molly now works as a Preconstruction Administrative Assistant at a construction company.

Outside of the office you can usually find her on a long walk, meeting friends for coffee, or spending quality time with the people she love most.

Being a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters of America has been an extremely meaningful experience. For almost two years, Molly has been a Big Sister to her Little Sister Eden, and she loves it. Watching her grow, laugh, and become more confident has been such a joy!

Noelle Thrasher

Noelle works as an Admin Assistant and Office Manager with IT coordination responsibilities at a brokerage firm. Additionally,
she brings a strong technology background to her work, with experience supporting systems, improving processes, and collaborating across teams.


Noelle is passionate about community involvement and mentorship and is excited to work with Big Brothers Big Sisters to help further its mission and impact in the Birmingham community. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, staying active, traveling, and getting involved in local organizations.

James Thornton

James Thornton is a proud Birmingham native, passionate about helping young people reach their full potential. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Family Relations from Tennessee State University and is currently completing a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership at the University of the Virgin Islands. He will be pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership immediately after. James currently serves as the Employer Partnership Manager for The Birmingham Promise, helping to create meaningful opportunities for Birmingham City School students and employers across the city. He also has a strong background in education, having previously taught kindergarten and 9th-12th grade.

Fun fact: James previously worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.

Outside of work, he enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his wife.

Jackson Warren

Jackson Warren was born and raised in Hoover, Alabama. He earned a bachelor’s degree in building construction sciences, with minors in Spanish and business from Mississippi State University, in 2020. Jackson currently works at Brasfield & Gorrie as a Project Manager in their commercial / corporate service division. He is looking forward to getting involved with the BBBS YAB and having the opportunity to give back to the community he grew up in.

In his free time, Jackson enjoys playing tennis with his friends, spending time outside with his dog, Winston, being on the lake, and keeping up with sports.
